An Indoor Favorite

The Chinese Evergreen is my favorite houseplant. Not only because it comes in many different colors and leaf designs, but they are one of the easiest houseplants to care for. They prefer more shade then direct light and will let you know when they need to be watered. When too much time has gone between waterings, the plant will start to wilt. As soon as it gets watered, the Chinese evergreen will bounce back quickly. Chinese evergreens always provide color and dimension to the room. Most varieties of Chinese evergreens will top out about 24 - 30 inches in height and width. They will benefit from being re-potted every couple of years to replace the soil. When re-potting, it is best to up-size the pot or container. The rule of thumb is no more than 2 inches at a time. The scientific name for Chinese evergreen is Aglaonema.
