When I Wish Upon a Flower

Tonight, I wish for sunny, warm weather and I think this week's flower would agree. Wendy's Wish Salvia likes to be planted in sunny locations when it can spread out. At 3 feet tall and 2 feet wide, Wendy's Wish can stand alone in a container or be a wonderful backdrop for many other specimen plants. I typically use the Wendy's Wish Salvia as my thriller plant in containers or the tall center plant. Wendy's wish is an upright variety that has long tubular flowers that emerge hot pink from maroon capsules. It may be that I am partial to pink, but the color is phenomenal.

The flowers are long lived and stay attached in strong winds. With the tubular shape of the flowers and the citrus scent, they are wildly attractive to hummingbirds, butterflies and bees.

This is definitely one of my highly recommended plants.
